Governors meeting attendances

Dorothy Goodman School is a member of the Open Thinking Partnership (OTP) Multi Academy Trust which was established in August 2020

The OTP has four members who meet at least once each year and hold the responsibility for ensuring the finances of the Trust are in order and are spent in the best way to benefit the children and young people who attend the schools within the trust.

The Trust has seven Trustees and they are responsible for ensuring that the leadership and management of the schools are effective and policies are being followed. Chris White is the Chair of Trustees. Tony Carr is a Trustee and a Member; this provides a link between the Members and the Trustees.

Our chair of Trustees Christopher White

I became a governor at Dorothy Goodman School in 2016 offering the skills that I have to benefit the school. Having been fully involved in the transition to Open Thinking Partnership (OTP) I am now the Chair of Trustees and the chair of Finance & Staffing Committee.

My background is mainly in finance and business. I joined the Hinckley & Rugby Building Society in 1989 and was appointed to the Board as Finance Director in 1993 before becoming Chief Executive in 2007.After gaining a degree in Economics I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981 and worked at a number of companies in the Rover Group before joining Hinckley & Rugby.  I retired from the building society in December 2018 after 29 years service.

Our Co-Vice chair of Trustees Caroline Henton and Simon Love

My career has always been based around regulatory law enforcement and compliance, previously this was in Local Government and now as a senior manager within the Civil Service. I have been able to bring a number of my professional work skills to the role of Trustee within OTP. I have been a parent governor at Dorothy Goodman School since January 2014, my daughter has progressed through the school following her transfer from a mainstream school she has attended Richmond base, Redmoor base and the base at Hinckley Academy.

Caroline Henton, Co-Vice Chair of Trustees

I became a Governor of Dorothy Goodman School in March 2015. Having been fully involved in the transformation to OTP I am delighted to be Co-Vice Chair of the Trustees. I have had a varied career to date working in management roles in both the private and public sector. I have a background in law and regulation and felt this would be a good mix of experience and skills to inform my role as Trustee. I currently work as a Senior Manager in the Civil Service. Having heard about the work of the school and now extending this to OTP, I'm proud to be part of the Board of Trustees.
