The Finance & Staffing committee met this week and commented that they were pleased with the links and opportunities with North Warwickshire & South Leicester College. They wanted to thank Mrs Draycott & Mr Roadley for supporting the young people in this transition to our new classes based on NWSLC Nuneaton campus.
Chris joined the Hinckley & Rugby Building Society in 1989 and was appointed to the Board as Finance Director in 1993. He became Chief Executive in 2007. The Society, which has 8 branches and 4 agencies in Leicestershire and Warwickshire, is one of the top 20 building societies in the country with assets of more than £650m. After gaining a degree in economics he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981 and worked at a number of companies in the Rover Group before joining Hinckley & Rugby. For a number of years he was Chairman and Treasurer at Home-Start Hinckley. We are very pleased he has become a member of our school governing body.
The parent and community sub-committee of governors met this week and enjoyed re-viewing the new films made by the pupils to represent ‘A day in the life of DGS’. They were also pleased to hear the comments from one of the visitors this week who said ‘I really en-joyed spending time in your school yesterday and meeting with you, your pupils and staff. I found the experience uplifting, there was an atmosphere of warmth and dynamism and the commitment of you and your staff to providing equality of opportunity to your pupils is inspiring.’
