Thank you to Mr & Mrs Sweet for their kind donation of £50 towards vital equipment.

£50 allows us to purchase LEGO that is used in therapy sessions, LEGO based therapy is a social development programme which helps children and young people with autism spectrum disorders and related social communication difficulties, such as Asperger’s Syndrome. The programme is based on the highly structured, systematic and predictable nature of LEGO play which makes it appealing to children with social communication difficulties who are particularly attracted to systems. Much more than simply playing with LEGO bricks, LEGO therapy includes the presence of a therapist who guides the children and encourages them to address and resolve their problems. Through LEGO therapy, children can learn to communicate with others, express their feelings, change their behaviour, develop problem-solving skills and develop a relationship with the world around them.

Congratulations on your Diamond Wedding Anniversary.

Forget Lord Alan Sugar!

Forget Richard Branson!

Meet the next generation of entrepreneurs - 1st Britannia Cub Group!

Through hard work, determination & a little lemonade they turned £18 into £483.46 for our young people.

Each cub was given £1 to turn into as much as possible for Dorothy Goodman. During the half term running up to Christmas they made lemonade, baked cakes, made Christmas decorations and more to help raise money for our young people.

The money the cubs raised will buy a specialist feeding table to help our pupils gain extra independence when feeding. Plus specialist resources to help our senior students with cooking their own lunches by purchasing some adaptable equipment.

A huge thank you from everyone at Dorothy Goodman School - Academy for this amazing donation.
