January 2005 News in Brief

Whiteboards

Two new Interactive Whiteboards have been installed over the Christmas period – taking our total to 6 - which means that all classes apart from Life Skills possess one, and they do have a digital projector.

Springer Toys

We have bought two new Springer Toys for the playground at the back of the school – since we think they will move to the New School. I may be asking for volunteers in 18 months’ time!

Chair of Governors

New Chair of Governors is Jeffrey Bowes, who can be contacted via the school. Jeffrey is the minister at the Unitarian Chapel in Hinckley, and replaces Alison Barnes, who did sterling work behind the scenes (especially in relation to all of the various Sub-Committees). So my thanks, and the thanks of the school, to Alison for all the hard work that she did.

Donations

Donations received last term include:

Ullesthorpe Golf Club £4000
Anchor Inn, Burbage £500
Mr. Jackson £31
Hinckley & Rugby Building Society £150

These amounts have been used to fund the Springer Toys, further computers and laptops, sensory equipment and class-based equipment, and class funds (for outings, drinks, transport etc.)
