New Rooms

Most of you will know that for a little while now we have been planning two new work rooms at the rear of the school. These are now open, having been funded largely by the local authority. One is used by Junior 1 and the other is used by Junior 2, and they are proving extremely beneficial. So far they have been used for

Broadband

Well, we are not actually on Broadband yet, although we are getting a little closer! We have some very interesting boxes in our library - making some wonderful noises, we have a new line into school, and we are having a lot of cabling installed.

Music CD

Those of you who went to the concert will know that one of our pupils produced his own CD to play during the performances. We are extremely proud of this because it is such advanced work, and we are especially pleased because the student did most of it by himself. It would not have been possible without the input of Kate in Senior 2. We have released Kate to work at ICT one day per week in the school, and it is really paying off - leading to a much higher level of skills (in staff and students!). So thank you, Kate.

The only thing we need to do as far as I can see is to actually connect everything up, and then it might work! So, watch this space! When we do have Broadband up and running it will give us instant, and constant access to the internet - so there will be obvious benefits to pupils. computer work (because they are areas in which children can really concentrate), individual work programmes and numeracy groups. We are delighted to have them. Next time you are in school pop in and have a look - they are off the main corridor, just past the Office. Compact Disc
