 
Interactive White Boards
All classes on both sites of the school have Interactive Whiteboards. These are the latest Smart Boards, which means that they can be operated by touch alone, giving very good access to all of our students. On the Lower site there are two Whiteboards to each class, one in the main classroom and one in the group room. They are linked, which is an exciting development, and means that the same lesson can be delivered to groups in two separate areas. On the Upper site each class has one White Board, and these are due to be up-graded shortly. All teaching staff (and many support staff) have had extensive training in the use of White Boards, ensuring that they get very good use.
Computer Server
On the Lower site we now have an up-to-date Server system, which is proving beneficial as it allows classes and teachers to share material and to store it in areas that can be accessed by all staff. The Upper site is also to receive a Server shortly, which will bring the same benefits to our 14-19 students.
Video Conferencing
There is a dedicated Video Conferencing port on the Lower site, and as soon as a corresponding port is provided at the Upper site we will be able to offer this facility to our students. One use, for instance, will be for 14 year-olds at the Lower School, to talk to the students at the Upper School during their transition term.
ICT SUITE
Because we are now operating a split site school, this has meant that we can make our Upper school appropriate to the needs of the older students. One of the things that we have done is to remove the Softplay from this site and replace it with an ICT suite. This is excellent for the 14-19 year-olds, especially now that we have a specialist ICT teacher who can develop students’ ICT capabilities to their fullest.
